This hands-on, interactive skills lab will focus on arthrocentesis, joint reductions, and techniques for procedural sedation and analgesia (PSA). Using small group teaching, a multimedia approach and anatomic models, participants will have the opportunity to learn about, and practice, these frequently performed procedures and gain familiarity with medications used in the emergency department (ED) for PSA.
Objectives:
- Learn and practice common ED orthopaedic procedures.
- Gain familiarity with commonly used PSA agents.
- Learn the pitfalls to avoid when performing these procedures or using PSA medications.
- Review the latest literature of PSA and orthopaedic procedures.
